Ministering In Our Community

As Christians in this world we strive to make our community a better place. We have several ministries that serve our community here in Brookland and in the area.

• Loaves and Fishes Pantry: Opened to all residents of the Brookland school district. We open our pantry every 2nd Thursday of the month, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
  
  
• Bible And Breakfast: Offered to the community every Wednesday morning during the school year. We have a hot breakfast and a devotional and then we take the kids to Brookland school. We start bright and early at 6:45 am from September until the end of April. If school is out we do not have our Bible and Breakfast.
  
  
• Vacation Bible School: We conduct a VBS for the community kids every summer. With lots of activities, crafts, lessons and refreshments, this one is a must !  Watch our website and our calendar for details.
  
  
• Summer Bible Camp: Hosted every first week of August at camp Tahkodah, we encourage all the youth of the area to be a part of this great spiritual week. Watch our site for more info as we near the summer.
  
  
• Community Work Day: Every summer we pick a day (usually the hottest one!) to work on a project to improve our comunity. From painting fire hydrants, to general clean up, we always have a project to work on. If you have any project ideas to submit, please contact Lance Guest.
  
  
• Highway Clean Up: We have adopted a section of our very own highway 49 to clean up. It keeps the youth busy and the highway looking good !
  
  
• Rehabilitation Hospital Devotionals: Every month we host a devotional at the Health South Rehab Hospital in Jonesboro. Our devotional starts at 2pm. Watch our calendar for the next one.
  
  
• Trunk-or-Treat: Every year on Halloween we host this fun event in our parking lot. We have lots of games, candy and hay rides. Opened to all in the community, come join us next October 31st.
  
  
• Children's Homes Inc.: We proudly support our neighbors in Paragould in their effort to provide a loving environments for children that are displaced from their families. They are a faith-based organization that provides therapeutic care for children and families in need through family-style residential care, foster care, and adoptive services. • Singles Retreat: Our bi-annual singles retreat is held the last weekend of March and September at the CRYC camp. All the details and registration information can be found at our singles retreat site.

Ministering In Our Country

Every year in June we go out to Shiprock, NM to conduct a Vacation Bible school and a Gospel Meeting for the Navajo Indians. We support the church in the reservation through out the year financially as well as with regular trips out there to do repair work and various maintenance duties. The mission work is always a great success and a highlight of our summer.

Ministering In Our World

In Europe, we support our international missionary Joe Gibbs. Joe does great work with the Italians and has an active congregation.

In South America, we support Kenneth Finlayson, a local preacher who ministers in Enmore, Guyanna. Kenneth is very busy with the local congregation as well as with the orphanage. Hope Children's Home provides a refuge for the children who are being abandoned at the hospitals because the parents do not have the means to care for them.
